== Role in ''Golden Wind'' ==

At the start of Part 5, Giorno is a petty thief operating in Naples, using his Stand to pull off small cons while dreaming of transforming the mafia from within.

He meets Bruno Bucciarati| (ブローノ・ブチャラティ) during a confrontation on a tram, impressing the older gangster with his resolve and his dream of becoming a “Gang‑Star” who protects ordinary people. 

Giorno undergoes Passione’s initiation test under capo Polpo, where he successfully retrieves a lighter while protecting innocents, and later engineers Polpo’s death after the capo kills a bystander.

He then joins Bucciarati’s squad—Leone Abbacchio, Guido Mista, Narancia Ghirga, and Pannacotta Fugo—and helps them retrieve Polpo’s hidden fortune, earning Bucciarati a promotion.


The team is tasked with guarding Trish Una, the boss’s daughter, and escorting her across Italy, only to discover the boss plans to kill her to erase his own traces.

Giorno supports Bucciarati’s rebellion against the boss, and together with the surviving members of the team, wages a campaign to expose and overthrow Passione’s unseen leader, Diavolo.

In the final battle, Giorno evolves his Stand into '''Gold Experience Requiem''', a transcendent form that nullifies Diavolo’s attempts to control fate and condemns him to an endless loop of deaths.

By the end of ''Golden Wind'', Giorno becomes the new boss of Passione, symbolically turning his marginal, biracial outsider status into a position from which he can reshape Italy’s underworld according to his own code.
