What is Halvsie?[edit]
People who are half Japanese, as in half Japanese and half American, for example. A common term used in Japan is hafu or haafu.
Halvsie was coined by Saren Sakurai in 2004 for use on halvsie.com, a forum of half Japanese people.
It was used as an alternative to hapa, which is more pan-Asian.
