Kenji was the son of the Golden Age hero Gwenny Lou Sabuki aka Golden Girl. He was a member of the V Battalion using the identity Golden Sun but was killed in action. His daughter Ameiko took his place in the V Battalion using the identity Goldfire. Goldfire was also later killed in the line of duty. Kenji's other daughter Ryoko became the hero Radiance.
