Japanese Americans (usually) who were born between 1961 and 1981 are generally know on Japanifornia as Gen X Nikkei. We are a cohort group within the nikkei lineage, and share common experiences with one another, in this context, especially during our formative years in the [[:Category: The 1970s | 1970s]], [[:Category: The 1980s | 1980s]], and [[:Category: The 1990s | 1990s]]. I, myself, Saren, consider myself to be right in the middle of this demographic, and Japanifornia is a monument to the Gen X Nikkei culture I hold so dear. Articles categorized with Gen X Nikkei will either be individuals themselves who are Gen X Nikkei, or specific nikkei cultural signifiers that were strong for the generation of nikkei coming of age during our era. These signifiers are generally a subset of the bigger nikkei cultural signifiers, and we share them across generation, but from our own Gen X point of view. [[Category: Nikkei]]
