Dangard Ace, which was piloted from a cockpit in its head by scientist Ilongo Savage, was one of the Shogun Warriors, a trio of giant robots created by the Followers of the Light to safeguard the Earth from alien invasion. The robots were destroyed some months after their mission was completed.
