The Ninja (real name unrevealed) was a legendary Japanese samurai turned outlaw, who sought mystical power as the apprentice of Master Khan. Driven by ambition, he tried to conquer the legendary city of K’un-Lun with newfound abilities but was defeated by Lei Kung and had his spirit bound to the Book of Many Things as punishment. Many years later, the Ninja returned as a spirit and sometimes possessed others, most notably Lee Wing, using him as a vessel. He helped Iron Fist infiltrate Harold Meachum’s offices, and, when Iron Fist refused to kill, the Ninja killed Meachum himself. He was ultimately freed from the book after its destruction but remains one of Marvel’s most mysterious mystical Japanese warriors, with tales spanning Golden Age to Bronze Age comics.
