By 1945, the Imperial Japanese Army exploited this legend, sending a Japanese spy to impersonate the resurrected Prophet and incite rebellion against Allied Forces. The spy faked supernatural powers using an assistant with a nearly invisible bull roarer, strangling victims to create the illusion of deadly willpower. Sgt. Mike Duffy, Captain America, and Bucky uncovered the hoax, exposed the Prophet's hidden assistant, and revealed him as a Japanese agent. The followers turned on the impostor, assuring Captain America that justice would be served. The Prophet wielded a sword and relied on trickery and cult tactics rather than actual magic.
