Godzilla vs. SpaceGodzilla (Movie)
Godzilla vs. SpaceGodzilla (ゴジラVSスペースゴジラ, Gojira tai Supesugojira) is a 1994 Japanese kaiju film directed by Kensho Yamashita and produced by Toho. It is the sixth film in the Heisei series and the direct sequel to Godzilla vs. Mechagodzilla II (1993). The film introduces SpaceGodzilla, a powerful cosmic entity believed to have been formed from Godzilla's cells carried into space—possibly by Biollante or Mothra—that mutated after passing through a black hole. The story follows two parallel efforts: a JSDF operation called Project T, which attempts to psychically control Godzilla using a device developed with the help of psychic Miki Saegusa, and Project Moguera, which deploys a new mech to combat the alien threat. Godzilla vs. SpaceGodzilla is notable for deepening the emotional bond between Godzilla and Little Godzilla, and for featuring one of the most visually distinctive monster designs in the entire Heisei run.
On Birth Island, Little Godzilla is living peacefully under Godzilla's watchful eye when SpaceGodzilla suddenly arrives and attacks. SpaceGodzilla fires crystal spires from the ground and traps Little Godzilla inside a crystalline prison, effectively holding him hostage. Godzilla attempts to fight back but is overpowered, and SpaceGodzilla heads toward Japan. Separately, the JSDF launches Project T—a covert plan to implant a telepathic device into Godzilla's neck to allow Miki Saegusa to psychically steer him. A special forces team led by Koji Shinjo and Sho Kuroki is sent to Birth Island to carry out the operation, and Miki accompanies them.
SpaceGodzilla makes landfall at Fukuoka, erecting a massive crystal fortress around Fukuoka Tower and using the structure to absorb cosmic energy and amplify his power. Moguera, the JSDF's rebuilt version of the Showa-era robot, is deployed to intercept SpaceGodzilla but is badly damaged. Godzilla arrives in Fukuoka to confront SpaceGodzilla, and the two engage in a brutal, prolonged battle. SpaceGodzilla's crystal fortress continuously replenishes his energy, giving him a massive advantage. Moguera reenters the fight—this time split into its Star Falcon and Land Moguera components—and destroys SpaceGodzilla's shoulder crystals, cutting off his power source. With SpaceGodzilla weakened, Godzilla unleashes his spiral ray at full force, obliterating SpaceGodzilla in a massive explosion. The crystal fortress crumbles, and Little Godzilla is freed from his prison back on Birth Island.
