Raydeen was one of a trio of giant robots, the Shogun Warriors, and was piloted (from a cockpit in its head) by stunt driver Richard Carson. The robots were created by the mysterious Followers of the Light to protect the world from alien invasion, but all three of them (including Raydeen) were destroyed some months after completing their mission.
