[[File: Sanctuary of Light.png | thumb | frameless | right | 300px | Sanctuary of Light]] The Sanctuary of Light was built on Mount Fuji in Honshu, Japan by the [[Followers of the Light]] who were on Earth to destroy their ancient foe Maur-Kon. They created three robots and selected three pilots to become the [[:Category: Shogun Warriors | Shogun Warriors]] to face the menace of Maur-Kon and other threats to the Earth. Eventually Maur-Kon got revenge against the Followers, slaying them all and destroying their Sanctuary. Subsequently the Shogun Warriors brought Maur-Kon to justice. Later, the ruins of the Sanctuary were discovered by adventurer William McLaughlin who uncovered a fourth unfinished robot in the wreckage. He finished building it and dubbed the robot the Samurai Destroyer.
